Swansea City have confirmed the appointment of Francesco Guidolin as head coach.
The 60-year-old will watch the Swans' game at Watford on Monday night after being officially unveiled by the club.
Guidolin will work alongside interim manager Alan Curtis until the end of the season, although a club statement confirmed the Italian "will have the final say on team selection".
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: "We are very pleased with the appointment. His experience and knowledge will be a huge asset to the club.
"Francesco has an excellent record. He instilled a belief and motivation to compete and beat the best Italy had to offer.
"He also has a wealth of knowledge of players throughout Europe which will be a big boost on our recruitment side."
Valentina Fass of Sky in Milan confirmed that Guidolini has been studying English for the past two years and that he has already begun learning about the Premier League through his work with the broadcaster.
"Guidolini is a very passionate manager who truly puts all of himself in what he does. He's known to take some time to be by himself before matches just to concentrate.
"He's very good with young players and he doesn't have a fixed system he likes to play - he sometimes changes his system during the match.
"He has done some technical commentary for us on Premier League games and so he has already started doing some homework on the league."
